FAQs

Q. What type of hearing aid do you offer?

Our hearing aid is a Behind-The-Ear open-fit hearing aid. These fit completely behind the ear with only a narrow tube inserted into the ear canal, enabling the canal to remain open. Open-fit hearing aids are a good choice for people who experience a build-up of earwax, since this type of aid is less likely to be damaged by such substances. In addition, some people may prefer the open-fit hearing aid because their perception of their voice does not sound “plugged up.”

Q. What does “Ready-to-Use” hearing aids mean?

Ready-to-Use means that our hearing aids are factory pre-set with four (4) listening modes that you can select to suit your personal preference. Our hearing aids also have a manual volume control that you can adjust to suit your environment as required, ensuring you are always in full control.

Q. Are your hearings aids high quality?

Hearing Again hearing aids are registered for sale in Australia by the Australian Therapeutic Goods and Administration (TGA).
The TGA administers the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989 (the Act), applying a risk management approach designed to ensure therapeutic goods supplied in Australia meet acceptable standards of quality, safety and efficacy (performance).

Q. Why are your hearing aids at such low cost when compared to others?

Three reasons:

  1. We work in partnership with selected pharmacies so we don’t need to maintain a large number of expensive specialised Audiology Centres and therefore our operating costs are very low.
  2. Our hearing aids contain only the most essential features considered important in digital hearing thereby reducing costs.
  3. The need for hearing aids in Australia is so large – allowing us to adopt a high volume, low profit margin business model.
Most important, we do all this without compromising the quality and performance of our hearing aids.

Q. What type of hearing loss do your hearing aids cater for?

Our Ready-to-Use hearing aid caters for people with mild-to-moderate hearing loss. This group of people accounts for approximately 90% of those people with hearing loss. The hearing aid has four pre-set listening modes that you can select to best suit your needs in the environment you are in.

Q. Do I need to see an audiologist?

In Australia there is no requirement to see an audiologist or doctor to purchase a hearing aid. That said, we strongly recommend that you consult your doctor. Once your doctor clears you of any underlying medical conditions and recommends the use of hearing aids then you should consider whether our hearing aids will fit your needs.
It can take takes 3-4 weeks to fully adjust to the new sounds you hear.

Q. What is the warranty period?

Our hearing aids come with a 12 month warrantee covering manufacturing defects. We are proud to be an Australian company offering local customer support. You can visit our website to have access to videos that show you how to use and maintain your hearing aid and you can call 1300785421 anytime for additional assistance.

Q. Are your hearing aids digital?

Our hearing aids are high performance digital hearing aids with advanced features including; adaptive feedback cancellation, 6-channel wide-dynamic range compression and 12 band layered noise reduction.

Q. Are your hearing aids covered by health insurance Funds?

Please consult directly with your health insurance provider. Our devices are registered with the TGA and are classified as a hearing aid medical device.

Q. Do you sell your hearing aids online?

Our hearing aids are sold exclusively through Pharmacy stores. What we do sell online are accessories including sound tubes, sound domes and batteries.

Q. How long do hearing aids last?

The hearing aid body should last between 3-5 years, depending mainly on environmental conditions; mechanical shock, humidity, water ingress. The sound tubes and sound domes usually last between 3-6 months and should be changed if they become rigid or discoloured.

Q. How long does the battery last?

The hearing aid is always on when the battery is fitted. The battery will last 3-5 days. To get more battery life, open the battery door when you do not use the hearing aid, for example, before you go to bed.
